Last Week

It's been 12 weeks of being on a diet and exercising. I must say that even though I didn't reach the weight I wanted I'm glad i did this anyways because it was a great start and it just shows how hard losing weight is for anyone and how much of a struggle and temptation it is. 12 weeks ago I was 197lbs! Today I am 180.8! I know I am still 10 pounds away from the goal I wanted to reach but i still lost 17lbs which to me was amazing, but I can lose a few more.

On a side note my fiance and I have set a wedding date, which I'm extremely excited about. This has given me more of a motivation to keep losing weight. I'm a realistic person, I don't ever plan to be a size zero or look like a model. I guess in part it has to do with the fact that I am latina and curvy , but at the same time I am comfortable with my body and accept who I am. A lot of that has to do with my losing weight and going down a pant size. It has made a big difference in my own self confidence, but just like any other girl there will always be something I would like to change because no one is perfect. So if i can lose another 15lbs from here until August (which is when I will go wedding dress shopping with my mom) then I will be content. I'll try to keep you posted. ;)

Competition Extension

It's been two weeks since I last posted a blog and to be completely honest it was only because I was on vacation. I spent all of last week visiting my dad in Miami, my friends in Fort Lauderdale and my mom in Jacksonville, it was extremely fun. Although the same way the vacation distracted me from my responsibilities with school it also screwed me up in this competition.

I thought that being off for a whole week gave me the advantage to work out two times a day if I wanted to helping me get in the lead, but i was too busy hanging out with family and going out to eat that I wasn't keeping track. I attempted as much as possible to make sure I made healthy choices when I went out to eat, but that wasn't the challenge...it was the home cooked meals! My weakness is bread and rice which are both bad carbs and at home I avoid them by just not buying rice and only buying whole wheat bread. Well that wasn't the case at my mom's house there was rice for dinner everyday and the thing was my grandmother was cooking it and she makes the best rice! This was not good.

Well before last week I have been stuck at 184 for the past two weigh ins, 184.2 to be exact. Luckily at the end of this vacation I only gained 3 lbs which I'm sure I should be able to knock off in this week's weigh in which was suppose to be the last one but with all of us going on vacation and all the slacking we have all agreed in giving each other another chance, so I still have 2 weeks to retaliate. Can I lose another 14lbs in 2 weeks? I hope so. This is getting harder, but now I have more motivation than ever because my fiance and I finally set a date for the wedding and I want to at least be 160 before I start shopping for my wedding dress.
